Producer Information: Château de la Verrerie
Château de la Verrerie is located in the southern Luberon region of Provence, France, near the village of Puget-sur-Durance. The estate was established in the late 1980s when Jean-Louis Descours recognized the potential of its unique terroir and began revitalizing old vineyards while planting new ones. The château’s winemaking philosophy centers on organic viticulture, careful hand-harvesting, and minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar to express the authentic character of their land.
Beyond their signature red blends based on Syrah and Grenache, Château de la Verrerie produces a diverse portfolio that includes white wines crafted from Roussanne and Viognier as well as elegant rosés typical of Provence. The estate also explores limited bottlings from varietals such as Marsanne and Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition to wine, they have expanded into artisanal olive oil production using traditional cold-press methods sourced from their own groves. This multifaceted approach highlights their commitment to quality across all products associated with Mediterranean agriculture.
